Roger Orf is the former vice-chairman of Apollo Global Management and previously served as Citigroup’s global CEO of its real estate business. He has spent most of his career investing across European real estate markets since relocating to the UK in 1991 with Goldman Sachs.
After retiring from Goldman Sachs, he moved into entrepreneurship, most notably founding E-Shelter GmbH, a German-based data centre business later sold to NTT for over €1 billion. Along the way, he also incubated other prominent real estate companies, including Regus (now the world’s largest serviced office business) and Vonovia (Germany’s largest residential landlord).
A member of the Chicago Booth Council since 2015, he has also served on the boards of Atrium European Real Estate, the Urban Land Institute, Regus PLC, and the Ambassador Theatre Group. He graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Georgetown University and holds both a JD and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
