TO FIND OUT WHERE THE WORLD AND REAL ESTATE ARE HEADED, WHILE NETWORKING AND HAVING NEW BUSINESS EXPERIENCES

THE LEARNING & THE NETWORKING EXPERIENCES / DAY 1 & 2

THE MEDITERRANEAN EXPERIENCE / EXTENDED PROGRAM

THE ISLAND EXPERIENCE / FOR SPOUSES ONLY

A fresh and unusual proposal especially created for the leading players, both domestic and foreign, of the property industry in Spain with the participation of infrequent world-class speakers.

An event designed to meet, learn, share experiences and network on a different, distended and friendly way in a unique place as Ibiza.

All of the sessions at SQUARE will devote at least 15 minutes to an open and lively debate/discussion between the floor and the dais, so that attendees will be able to not only ask a question but also, if they feel like, give their opinion or make their own statement (“tiny speech”).

* Simultaneous translation into Spanish will be available in all sessions.

Download the SQUARE program.

THE LEARNING & THE NETWORKING EXPERIENCES

DAY 1 / Wednesday, October 6th

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

SQUARE will devote its first day (October 6th, from 2.30 pm) to give “food for thought” through four world-class sessions that will set the frame in terms of geopolitics, technology as a tool to build the future of everything and, something very special, what worries and hopes we should consider in the aftermath of the pandemic, the most disruptive global crisis since WWII. The sessions won’t be at all just about RE. They will aim to tell where the world, our society, is heading. Fears and cheers.

And it will be up to the SQUARE participants trying to figure out how this will affect RE and their own companies.

As the world continues to deal with the fallout from COVID-19 geopolitical risk continues to rise, shaping the future of the business environment and the real estate sector worldwide.

Geopolitics and geostrategies around the world like the Brexit, US-China tensions, the US leaving Afghanistan, the EU’s accelerated push for “strategic autonomy,” new FDI restrictions and industrial policies, politics of emerging market debt are causing a massive change and presenting unique opportunities and threats for investors in the Real Estate sector.

DAY 2 / Thursday, October 7th

THE FUTURE AT LARGE
+ THE FUTURE OF RETAIL AND HOSPITALITY
+ THE FUTURE OF CITIES (RESHAPED BY AI, CLIMATE CHANGE, NEW MOBILITY…)
+ MONEY, MONEY, MONEY...(IMPACT, ALTERNATIVE, AND “CLASSIC” INVESTORS)

A big deal of Day 2, the whole morning, will be spent on “the future”. On what we may expect 5-10 years down the road. There will be four keynotes on it. Four brilliant and, most important, “non-mainstream” speakers will make their bold and exciting forecasts. A morning for those willing to be in the cutting edge, for those who really want to be ahead of their competitors by learning what’s coming up.

However, as we get prepared for a most exciting future, in the meantime new business, new deals, new investments still need to be done. And that’s why SQUARE, following one of the its claims, “Long-term Thinking, Short-term Deal-making”, will devote its last three sessions to panels filled with world-class investors who will give their highly-regarded opinions on impact, alternative and “classic” investments. Are you going to miss them?

Our cities define us. We support our cities when they benefit us. What happens when our cities no longer create the outcomes we have come to expect in a world obsessed with AI, climate change, energy efficiency, new mobility systems? Can we plan cities in ways that can re-engage us? Can we apply these strategies to smaller neighborhoods? Entire regions?

“The Next Big Challenge:
Measuring Social and Environmental Impact.”
Impact investing refers to investments “made into companies, organizations, funds and properties with the intention of generating a measurable, beneficial social or environmental impact alongside a financial return”. How can and should we measure the environmental impact of real estate investment? Will we ever be able to measure the social impact of real estate investment?  What standards are likely to develop and how should we respond?

THE MEDITERRANEAN EXPERIENCE
& “LE TOUR D’IBIZA”

DAY 3 / Friday, October 8th

Extended Program

On Friday, October 8th, SQUARE will deliver a double networking experience.

From 10.00 AM, “Le Tour d’Ibiza” for those RE and cycling champs who, under the leadership of Andrew Baum, will be willing to discover the gorgeous beauty of both the Ibiza countryside and seaside through a 40 km route between pines, almond trees and vineyards to end by the sea, at the most acclaimed Casa Jondal “chiringuito” (seaside restaurant in Spanish) where to have lunch, at 1.00 PM, with the rest of the SQUARE participants (with a more relaxed approach to life!) who will join “The Mediterranean Experience”.

After lunch, and after giving the opportunity to enjoy a hand-made cigar to the most epicurean “Squerers”, a series of vans will return all participants to the Gran Hotel in time to fly out of Ibiza, if so desired, that same evening.

THE ISLAND EXPERIENCE

ALL DAYS

For spouses only

For those willing to travel to such an appealing place as Ibiza together with his or her “better half”, SQUARE will deliver a special program to experience different aspects of the island, from lunching at an exclusive beach club to go shopping at the Dalias hippy market in San Carlos, or from visiting the lovely little village of Santa Gertrudis, to shopping around the Ibiza “old town”.
